Hydraulic/ Assembly Technician

Weldco-Beales Manufacturing Ltd. (WBM) manufactures heavy equipment attachments and truck mounted cranes for the construction, forestry, mining and resource industries throughout Canada, U.S.A. and internationally.  Our manufacturing facility located in Edmonton, Alberta is currently recruiting a Hydraulic/ Assembly Technician.

Reporting to the Machine Shop and Service & Assembly Foremen, the Hydraulic/ Assembly Technician uses various tools and processes to repair existing hydraulic systems as well as assemble, install and commission new hydraulic systems in a safe, timely manner.

Responsibilities will include, but not be limited to:

  • Assembles mechanical, hydraulic and other electrical products
  • Assembles products to drawing and schematic specifications
  • Consistently delivers quality workmanship
  • Performs area and equipment maintenance and cleaning 
  • Provides on the job training as required

Qualifications:

Education 

The following trade certifications will be considered:

  • Heavy Duty Mechanic
  • Hydraulic Technician
  • Millwright

Experience

  • A minimum of 5+ years of experience in a similar position
  • Experience with schematics 
  • Welding experience would be an asset

Knowledge

  • Good knowledge of all safety practices
  • Knowledge of all tools and equipment and their use
  • General knowledge of hydraulic and mechanical systems 

Skills & Abilities

  • Communication skills to read, write, listen, and speak in a clear and concise manner to individuals at various levels
  • Interpersonal skills to work collaboratively and cooperatively with others
  • Manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination skills to perform tasks
  • Problem solving and analytical skills to identify problems and find a solution, or seek advice from the supervisor
  • Attentive to details to increase operational efficiencies  
  • Mechanically inclined to complete troubleshooting and repair tasks
