Weldco Heavy Industries is a large steel fabrication and repair facility located in the Fort MacKay
Caribou Energy Park, ideally positioned in the heart of Alberta’s Oilsands. WHI is currently recruiting Journeyman Welders; key responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Proficiency in all position use of: GMAW, FCAW, SMAW; all sizes of weld wire
Reading and interpretation of blueprints
Proficient in the use of oxy/fuel cutting equipment, electric welding machines
Active participation in Safety Programs
Maintain a clean, orderly and safe work environment at all times
Certified journeyperson qualified to work in the province of Alberta
Repair/rebuild of large mining equipment including heavy haul truck boxes, dozer blades, Shovel Clam/Backwall Dippers
Preference will be given to applicants that have worked on Oil Sands sites and demonstrate sustained safety consciousness
14 days on, 14 days off – 12 hour shifts
Living Out Allowance or Accommodation
Residence in the Fort McMurray region; a Living Out Allowance will be provided
If you don’t reside in the Fort McMurray regions, camp accommodation and meals will be provided in the Fort McKay region.
NOTE – All final candidates are required to complete a successful criminal records check. Successful candidates will undergo a pre-employment medical evaluation and drug test consistent with the WHI Drug and Alcohol Policy upon hiring. The successful candidate will demonstrate commitment to safety and continuous quality/process improvement. Excellent communication, leadership, interpersonal, organizational and problem solving skills are also required.
